With offices in London and Manchester, Afruca works in UK Black and Ethnic communities to protect and safeguard children from abuse, modern slavery and exploitation. The charity tackles cultural and religious practices that harm children.
As Christmas is fast approaching, the charity needs your support to help vulnerable children survive what looks likely to be a very difficult Christmas period.
In addition, as the cost of living is dramatically rising, Afruca has serious concerns about the impact this is having on the children, young people and adults it supports. The charity is dedicated to delivering services that provide emotional and practical support, but without donations, they are limited in their ability to do so.
Any donations receive go directly towards supporting the charity’s activities. Here are just some of the priorities they are dealing with currently:
- Electricity and refreshments costs to keep their offices warm whilst they provide a welcoming space to facilitate their ‘Parent Coffee Mornings’ and ‘Hackney Talks For Parents’.
- Food expenses to provide children and volunteers with a hot meal whilst they attend the brilliant ‘Young Coders’ club, which supports vulnerable children who are at risk of Trafficking and Exploitation.
- Emergency funds and donations to support Victims and Survivors, this includes contributions towards their household bills, furniture, electrical appliances and clothing.
This Christmas, please be generous. Please support AFRUCA by donating to help fund and sustain its ongoing work and activities. Your donation will help to make such a big difference in the lives of others.
